Bio
Fenya Almstadt, born 1992 in Germany, studied art history, history and social and cultural anthropology in Berlin, Potsdam and Rennes. Since October 2023 she is conducting research as a PhD candidate on the provenance of paintings acquired by the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium between 1933-1960 and its respective acquisition politics within the BRAIN research project "ProvEnhance – Enhancing the provenance data of the collections of the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium (RMFAB) since 1933. Scientific study, digital valorization and narrative in context".
In the past Fenya participated in a provenance research project at the Liebermann Villa am Wannsee, Berlin, worked for the Jewish foundation ZURÜCKGEBEN and as a freelance referee at the Sachsenhausen Memorial and Museum.
She is also affiliated to the Arbeitskreis Provenienzforschung e.V. (Research Association for Provenance Research) in Germany.
