Bio
Roberta Raccomandato is a PhD candidate at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Belgium, where she is conducting her doctoral research within the ERC Starting Grant project MOOVA: Making Old Objects Valuable Again. She holds an MA in Arts and Heritage: Policy, Management and Education. Her research lies at the intersection of critical heritage studies, material culture, and repair studies, with a strong focus on dynamics related to second-hand markets. Her current work in the low-end antiques market questions how material futures are socially negotiated outside formal heritage institutions through everyday practices of care, circulation and repair to imagine post-preservationist futures.
