Bio
Jin Wang holds a PhD in Economics from Beijing Normal University, as well as a Master’s degree in Statistics and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance (China). She also completed a joint PhD exchange at the University of Leeds (UK), where she focused on asymmetric information in fintech and financial stability. With an interdisciplinary academic background in economics, statistics, and finance, her research combines empirical microeconomic analysis with advanced quantitative methods. During her doctoral studies, she explored price dynamics in financial markets and household finance. Her work involved applying econometric models and machine learning techniques to large-scale panel datasets, addressing complex problems in data-driven economic research. At MOOVA, Jin contributes to the economic analysis of the online antiques market, with a particular focus on price formation mechanisms and investment behavior. Her current research aims to develop a theoretical and empirical framework to better understand the vertical segmentation of the antique market, particularly at the lower end. Her research also reflects a strong interest in market valuation, sustainable consumption, and the methodological challenges of analyzing real-world data in evolving economic contexts.
